Why EverGive Exists

By Ismael Dainehine, Founder & CEO

EverGive was conceived of as the answer to a radical question: What if donations didn’t just get spent? What if they grew over time instead?

For seven years, I’ve worked alongside charities, leading teams that have helped raise over £100 million for good causes around the world. It’s been incredibly rewarding, and I’m genuinely proud of what we’ve achieved.

But if I’m honest, there was always something I couldn’t quite shake – a single, persistent misgiving that I couldn’t put to bed. Time and again, I found myself returning to the same thought: traditional giving has inherent limits. Donations were making a difference, but once spent, they were gone for good – leaving charities to start fundraising from scratch. There had to be a better way.

That’s why we created Evergive: a model that stops donations disappearing, allowing them to grow and provide long-term, sustainable support to charities.

The Broken Cycle of Charity

Charities are trapped in a system that fails them and that fails donors too. In the UK alone, charities spend a staggering £6.3 billion annually just trying to secure donations. That‘s money that could go towards feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, or funding groundbreaking research – but instead, it‘s spent on fundraising campaigns.

The consequences of this are devastating. Just last year, nearly 4,000 UK charities closed their doors for good, while the top ten charities in England and Wales collectively had to divert £243 million to fundraising efforts.

That‘s not just inefficient: it‘s unsustainable.

So, when I reflect on the £100 million we‘ve helped to raise in the past, I can‘t help but wonder how much of that impact lingers today. How many projects have already started to deteriorate? And how many organisations are still caught in the same desperate cycle?

On the other side of the equation, donors face their own frustrations. They're passionate, generous people who truly want to change the world – but even the most committed donors are restricted to what they can contribute on any given day.

A monthly donation of £25 or £10 feels meaningful – and in many ways, it is. But it‘s a drop in the ocean compared to the scale of the problems donors care about solving. And that means there‘s an opportunity to bridge the gap between their hunger for change and what traditional giving models can actually achieve.

The Breakthrough: Giving That Grows

That’s where we come in. At EverGive, we‘ve created the world‘s first donor-driven investment fund, harnessing the power of Bitcoin to transform the way that charitable giving works:

Step 1. You choose a charity to donate to.
Step 2.
Your donation enters a secure, transparent fund invested in Bitcoin.
Step 3
. Every month, a portion – between 2% and 7% annually – goes directly to your chosen charities.
Step 4.
The principal (your original donation) remains invested, capitalising on Bitcoin‘s growth potential over time.

This solves some big problems for both sides:

For charities, it means stepping off the fundraising treadmill. Instead of chasing donations that are spent once and then gone, organizations receive ever-flowing, sustainable funding for the future. This lets them plan for the long term, invest in their staff and infrastructure, and focus on their core mission, instead of constant fundraising.

For donors, EverGive‘s model allows the impact of their donations to multiply beyond what was previously possible. A donation of £1,000 through EverGive has the potential to generate over £5,000 for charity over a few decades – while preserving the principal, so that the support can continue indefinitely.

This isn‘t just speculative – it‘s mathematical. Bitcoin‘s fixed supply of 21 million means that there‘s inherent scarcity at play. Unlike traditional assets or currencies, which can be eaten away by inflation, Bitcoin‘s deflationary design means that it‘s uniquely well suited to storing value across generations.

By combining this scarcity with a disciplined distribution model, EverGive has created something unprecedented: charitable giving that actually grows stronger with time.

Transforming Charity Forever

This is why EverGive exists: to transform charitable giving forever. We‘re creating a world where:

  • Charities are empowered to escape the fundraising cycle and build genuine financial security and sustainability;
  • Donors can multiply their impact far beyond their initial abilities;
  • Every contribution creates both immediate benefit and ongoing change.

If we succeed, we just might be the last generation that needs to donate out of necessity. Giving may become a choice in the future: not something that‘s needed urgently, because we‘ll have built an enduring store of funding that can provide a steady stream of support for good causes indefinitely.

This is the future of philanthropy: not just giving money, but giving in a way that creates a lasting legacy and neverending impact. Join us in building it. Donate with EverGive
